Teenage Troubles

 I am a teenager, rather I'll complete my teenage after one year and will be in my twenties. What is teenage? Just a period of illogical fantasies? Or a phase of romanticizing ? Or is it simply about focusing on one's career? At this point if someone asks me all these, I would simply say, teenage is nothing but a big TROUBLE!

Suppose you are sitting with your best friend in the school canteen and gossiping hard about someone. You love you friend more than anyone else, you can't stand any harsh words against her. Suddenly you got to know your crush secretly likes her. Will you be genuinely happy? CAN you be genuinely happy? The answer is no! No matter how much you love your friend, your insecurities would surround you and force you to be jealous. Thoughts like "Why her? Why not me? Am I that ugly?" would hover around your mind and you would feel choked from all sides. This is teenage!

You want to be a singer. This is your long dreamt passion since childhood. But after twelfth standard, when all your peers are opting for academics, you won't have that courage to pursue your passion. You would feel ," Am i wasting my parents' money? Will i ever be successful? My friends will get jobs early, what will happen to me?" After all these fears, you would end up killing your dream and chasing something you never had passion for. This is teenage!

When you were a child, you would often cry to draw your parents' attention, maybe for buying a toy car or doll. But now? Don't you come home with a bright smiling face and often lock yourself in the washroom, cry your heart out and again come out with that bright, fake happiness? You do, right? We don't want to show our sadness, our weaknesses to the society. What if they judge us? What if they say," Oh! Can't you handle this much pressure?" We try to portray ourselves as the happiest person often through social media , which is mostly fake. This is teenage!
